MySpace Helps Solve a Crime

Some people couldn't be more dumb. Did you hear about the kid who broke into the furniture store in Washington and got caught? Well, the reason he did was because after he got inside and took the things he wanted he decided to get on their company computer. After surfing through some porn and checking on some other stolen goods he had for sale online, he decided to login to his MySpace account.

MySpace was able to release all this users records so that police knew exactly who he was and this led to his immediate arrest and was charged with first degree burgulary. It seems to me that social media really is tracing every step we make. If he would have never used the computer, he probably would have never got caught at all. Tell me your thoughts on this subject. I'd like to hear them!

Frogs Predict Earthquakes?

Recently were I live in Oklahoma City, there have been small earthquakes taking place every few weeks. Not the ones that destroy buildings, but the ones that just shake your house a bit. Oklahoma is not widely known for earthquakes like California, but they definetely do happen here. The fault line that causes this is just a few miles from were I live so we feel them more than anyone. Well, with all these earthquakes happening here I tend to read a lot more when I see articles that talk about earth quakes. And earlier I found an article that said Toads can predict earthquakes. Its very interesting.

It mentioned that recently, some scientists may have documented proof that this foresight could be real. In the current issue of the Journal of Zoology, behavioral biologists Rachel Grant and Tim Halliday of the Open University report that large numbers of toads fled a breeding area five days before a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck L'Aquila, Italy, in April 2009.

These scientist were doing a different study on toads. This particular study had taken place less than 40 miles from the epicenter of a large upcoming earthquake. The scientist started seeing the frogs disapearing during their study and couldn't figure out why. Well, five days later their was a large earthquake that measured 6.8.

Scientist noticed that the climate, temperature, and other things stayed the same. But, the toads still left. Although some speculate and say that no animal can sense natural disasters, others really think it can happen and study this daily. So I want to know what you think. Do you think animals can sense natural disasters?

Due to FarmVille, Council Member Voted Off!

Ok so we all know how addicting FarmVille can be on Facebook. For those of you who have not heard of it or played it before FarmVille is the most popular app on Facebook and winner of "Best Social Game" at the 2010 Game Developer Choice Awards. Games like it can be particularly addictive because of its real-time game mechanics. Crops are going to mature and even die whether or not players are logged in. If they want to maximize their yield, they better be ready to bring in their crops the second they're ready to harvest. Just how addicting can it be to Dimitar Kerin who was administrating the second-largest city in Bulgaria. He was voted off a committee assignment by the Plovdiv City Council for his inability to stop tending his virtual crops on the Facebook game during meetings. Yet he was not alone in his obsession! There were other council members having the same problem.

Council chairman Ilko Iliev had previously warned several of them that the new wireless network and laptops provided to all council members were not to be used for playing games on social media sites during budget meetings. Kerin was singled out for continuing to manage his farm and milk his cows despite the warnings. Kerin told them that he "needs more time for his virtual far," After this being said council member Todor Hristov made the proposal to oust Kerin. This is so funny to me, how can some seriously be so addicted to something like this? To where your whole life can be decided by a game!

Man Puts NASA To Shame!

A man named Robert Harrison spent approximately $747 dollars to put NASA to shame! NASA with a budget of a billion dollars must have been embarrassed! They called Robert and asked him how he did it? They were thinking he actually made a rocket to retrieve pictures of this quality in space. Of course how Robert did it may seem hard to believe that something so extravagant could be so simple! Here's how he did it. He put a camera into a polystyrene box and attached it to a helium balloon. The camera was programmed to snap 8 photos and a short video every five minutes. When the balloon reached an altitude of 22 miles, it popped. As the camera fell, a parachute opened and the box gently floated back to earth. Robert found his camera some 50 miles from his home with the help of a GPS locator. I have to say it got me thinking, how did NASA not know to try this?! Don't you wish our government would of hired this guy Robert Harrison instead of NASA? This would of saved us a lot of tax dollars!

Lady GaGa and Beyonce Bring it on!

'Lady GaGa' is at the moment, the worlds sensation. Has she gone to far though? Her new video with 'Beyonce' of 'Telephone' after being released just three days after, the video received over 14 million hits! Now its over 23 million hits. The video has been described as 'soft porn' in the very beginning of this music video. Many parents are horrified by this video showing how violence, lesbianism and porn is ok for our youth. Other people feel that its extremely explicit and raunchy. Is this what our youth is looking up to? I understand how parents may feel this way, if I had children I wouldn't let them watch this video. As of 'Lady Gaga,' do you think she is choosing violence, lesbianism and porn just to get her records sold? Some describe the video as edgy, sexy, and refreshing. So if you like it then that's all that matters she has accomplished her goal. Do you think 'Beyonce' was trying to hard to be something or someone else shes not? Seemed that way to me. We expect this type of thing with 'Lady GaGa' but with 'Beyonce'? There both very talented singers but was this video used in the right way? From a business stand point I would have to say yes. I think it was. It is classified as entertainment and that's exactly what both these singers were wanting to do with there audience. The strange part to me about the whole situation is that they each made a video off of this 'Telephone' song. If you have not seen either one of thses videos, check them out and let me know what you think? I would LOVE to read others comments on this subject!

Marijuana Going Legal In California

California residents will be voting this year to decide whether marijuana should be legal and used to raise nearly $1.4 billion in state revenue. I'm not sure how many people know this or not but research shows that California is 24.3 billion dollars in debt. With weed being legal it would provide more jobs and more taxes would then be collected. If approved it will allow an individual to possess no more than one ounce, as long as they were over the age of 21. It would also allow an individual to operate a grow room for personal consumption, but the room can be no bigger than five foot by five foot. Yet, despite the harms of marijuana, politicians persist in imposing and upholding marijuana prohibition, because these politicians are not working for the people, they are working for the corporate executives who financed their campaigns. In other words they don't care if it is hurting someone as long as they are getting paid for it.

Top three reported uses of medicinal marijuana:

40% Chronic Pain
22% AIDS-Related
15% Mood Disorders
(23% All other categories)

Do We Spend To Much Time For The Opposite Sex?

The first part of this post goes out to all the ladies!

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about all the crazy things girls do. First off they said that girls will look at themselves in the mirror and talk or think about how they look. They will do this two times every hour! Women spend 136 days of their lives getting ready for a night out. They spend about half an hour washing and styling their hair followed by 20 minutes applying make-up and 15 minutes applying nail varnish. Heather Boden from Skinbliss, said: "These figures come as no surprise considering the pressure that today's women are under just to make themselves look good." Do you think men really know what women go through? A survey of 1,000 women also showed that 67% thought that the time spent getting ready was actually a chore. Today women spend 3,276 hours over their lifetimes putting on make up and getting dressed, while men only devote 1,092 hours to looking their best. Do you agree with this? Do you think we spend to much time on our selves then men deserve lol

Would you like to know about men??

Well, between the ages of 8-18, 59–73% use there video game controller on an average day. A study of 562 people between the ages of 19–90 living in the Seattle-Tacoma area, 45.1% said they played video games regularly. For those men who do shave, if you spent 3 minutes per day shaving, 6 days a week, from the age of 18 to 72, you would spend 50,544 minutes or 842.4 hours which would be just over 35 days. Also a study of nearly 1,000 middle school students were asked to rate the different ways they use their cell phone on a five point scale, from zero meaning "Never" to 5 meaning "Several Times a Day." The study found that boys scored higher than girls for using their cell phones to play games, share pictures and videos. Alot of guys out there must love playing video games. Interesting statistics... What do you think?

Las Vegas Selling Booze At Airport!

Las Vegas or as others know this place as 'Sin City' is now going to sell booze in there airport, the McCarran International Airport to be exact. This airport is the main one in downtown Las Vegas. It has been hurting for awhile now but due to numbers and revenue being so low they have thought this will be an incentive for flyer's.

Why would there airport revenues be so low you might ask? Well this particular airport has removed smoking access. Therefore there gambling is down as well. The idea would make the Vegas airport the first in the nation to offer such a service, so in turn this would help bring flyer's back into there airport. According to airport officials, visitors who go to Las Vegas often have their cab or limo driver stop at a local liquor store anyway, so why not make access to booze even easier? Could this be a bad idea? Well one county commissioner is not thrilled about the concept, He said this,
"What's next? Airport strip clubs? Topless bars? Is that appropriate for county property? I mean, that's 'out-of-the-box' thinking, too." Would there not be any concern that the baggage claim area is a place where people of all ages go while waiting on there baggage? There would be children involved in this decision. I mean at least clubs or bars when you are home you can leave your children with a sitter or family and go alone but at an airport what will they do? Would you be inclined to drag them into this atmosphere? Then again, Las Vegas isn't really kid friendly.

This liquor store is still in its early stages, and the commissioners are expected to vote on the matter this month. Yet, the airport has already determined that the store would be legal. This a good thing or bad?

Theme Park Hires Midgets, Terrorist Attack With Midgets.

120 little people live in a village near Kunming, China. The village was set up to protect the dwarf's from discrimination. You can’t live there if you are over 4 feet 3 inches tall. Now the group has turned itself into a tourist attraction by building mushroom houses and living and dressing like fairy tale characters.

When entrepreneur Chen Mingjing put out a call last year for China’s little people to come live in the park he was building, he quickly got more than 100 applicants, none taller than the cut-off height of 4 feet, 3 inches.“People accuse me of exploiting them,” Mingjing told NBC News’ “But we’ve given them a home.”

ALSO:

A shocking scene witnessed by many, where a group of midgets stormed in and overtook Six Flags Amusement Park in St. Louis. Some are claiming that it was a terrorist attack by midgets simply because there from international countries from around the world. The midget group called themselves "It's Not A Small World After All," and were demanding that all height requirements for amusement rides be abolished. "Our great people have endured systemic and systematic discrimination because of the height requirements. We are sick of only being able to ride the tea cups, spider, and Ferris wheels. Amusement parks across the country make us hang out with little kids in there kid friendly sections. We will no longer tolerate persecution." I have to say that I understand why they would feel this way. I mean if I was a little person I would be bummed that I couldn't do everything that every one else was doing? At the same time rather, the rule was only made for there protection. What do you think about it?

Affiliate Meet Up In Oklahoma

How was every one's weekend? Hope it went well for everyone. The advertising company that I work for, Revenue Ads. Had the very first Affiliate Meet Up in Oklahoma! It went really well. It was held at Revenue Ads office and was put together by Revenue Ads, Riley Pool, Ndustry Clix, Revenue 500, and Ndemandaffiliates. We had a guest speaker from the UK, Murray Newlands, who spoke with us about email marketing. The best ways to make it work, and what you shouldn't do. We also had a guest speaker from New Jersey, Ian Fernando, who told us how he got where he was today. Also what ways to help us improve our methods of doing Internet Marketing. It was very productive and went really good they each had there information presented on a slide show, and the audience could ask questions after. We then enjoyed a few drinks and got to associate with others in the business. They had Rib Crib Catered in. With a HUGE selection of beverages/alcohol.

At around 5pm a party bus arrived to take us to dinner at Boulevard Steakhouse. After we loaded back up in the party bus and went down to Brick Town, we enjoyed bowling with drinks at the RedPin. Later the party bus took everyone back to there cars where some left but others continued to keep the party going. I have talked with others at my work, where they said they want to make this an annual event. It was alot of fun and Hey!, I wouldn't mind doing this once a year. haha

Sandra Bullock's Husband Had An Affair

Its official and out in the open to the public. 40 Year Old Jesse James gave a public apology to Sandra Bullock and his children for Cheating. He said “It’s because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way, This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.” Wednesday night, People ran a story claiming a source told the magazine the actress had left the home she shares with James. He was then photographed taking his kids to school on Thursday, followed by the paparazzi.

Are you wondering what the girl looked like that he allegedly cheated on Sandra Bullock with? Well I was, so I did some research about her. Her whole body is covered in tattoos. Her name is Michelle McGee. She is 24 years old, and completely the polar opposite of Sandra's class act. Apparently Jesse went for this type of girl in past as well. His ex-wife is the nurse chick from Blink 182's video/cd.

On Michelle’s personal web page, she introduces herself with, “Hi Boys, I’m Michelle Bombshell the busty tattoo goddess of your dreams. I’m 90% covered in the most artistic tats ever, head to toe. Except for my DD boobs! I am the hottest busty tattoo and fetish model you will ever meet on a webcam. Come have a hot and steamy affair with inked girls like me on live video.” Classy!

She adds, “With all these tats, you might think I was a big partier. Sure, I get really wild in the sack with my men, but I’m actually a graduate student in college looking for the right sugardady to teach me and be my sexy mentor. If you like big boobs and tattoos, mine will be the perfect fit. I’m working on my Masters Degree in Bio-chemistry in the Cal State system and already have my BS in biology.” (Yeah, we smell BS alright!) “I finished two years of medical school – they didn’t like my forehead tat so much! Now, I especially love to have affairs with doctors. Their medical talk makes me hot! I love to be challenged, and I love to put know-it-all doctors in their place. Want a LIVE anatomy show and tell? If you like fit chicks with big boobs and tattoos, you will find no hotter live American cam girl in the world!

Michelle said she asked Jesse about his relationship with Sandra, and he responded, “She doesn’t live here. She has a house in Austin. She is filming, and I can’t talk about it.” Taking that as an open invitation to swoop in on Sandra’s hubby, Michelle and James supposedly had an 11-month “highly charged” affair. What do you think about this? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Jessica Simpson Plans On Having A Baby!

Jessica Simpson has new plans in store! She says she plans to have kids with her gay best friend and hairdresser Ken Paves. This is if she fails to settle down and have a baby by the age of 40. "I can't wait to have kids... Honestly, if I don't have kids by the time I'm 40, my best friend Ken Paves and I are going to have children
. Why not?," imdb.com quoted Simpson as saying. Paves admits he isn't as patient as his best pal as he wants to be a dad before he hits the milestone."I'm ready now! I've been trying to convince her to do it before I turn 40, which is two years," said Paves. Do you think she should do that? Have kids while not married? I think its nice that she wants to have kids. I think its a blessing to have them. Although at the same time, I feel that there should be a father and a mother raising a child. I think they need to have both sides in the upbringing of the relationship. Unless the family isn't together anymore. At the same time I have seen many single parents raise there children and they do a wonderful job. Most say that its really hard to only have one to do everything for the child whereas if you have both married then you can share different responsibilities in taking care of the child.

High Speed Pursuit In Midwest City, OK.

Today at my work I had front row seats to a high speed pursuit! It started in Spencer, OK and ended in Cleveland County off Franklin Road near Lake Thunderbird. Where a routine traffic stop by a sheriff turned into a high speed chase in Midwest City. It was a women driver in a Mercedes. When the sheriff attempted to pull her over she took off. Her speed reached over 80 mph. The Police used many stop sticks during the chase which made the suspect lose several of her tires. Yet she still continued to flee! Smoke was coming from her car, because most of the 20-minute pursuit she was driving on three rims. Eventually she was caught in a residential neighborhood where her car went off the road. Not far from where children were outside playing. She was then arrested. Fortunately no one was injured during this chase. They still have no idea why she took off. Her name has not been released either. This chase went right by my office! Its been crazy all the things that I have seen in the last few months. Has anyone else seen a high speed chase go by there house, office, or car while driving?? I want to hear your stories!

Toyota Recall True or False?

I was thinking about the huge recall on Toyota cars today. I watched a video from CNN about a man from San Diego, CA. Who said his 2008 Toyota Prius surged out of control for 20 minutes in sudden acceleration while police dispatched a patrol car to help him stop.

This man has become the face of Toyota's alleged runaway acceleration problem. The highly publicized incident in his Prius threatened to overshadow a push by the automaker to win back consumers after it briefly shut down sales of popular models in late January.

Could his story of the runaway Prius been faked? We know that this man is thought to have lied about his Toyota Prius going out of control. They did a test on the car to show why it was convinced there was no evidence of a flaw with the electronic systems used to control acceleration in its vehicles. Also proving that if your gas pedal was all the way down, and at the same time you were pressing on the break it would automatically kill the engine. Nothing seems to add up about his story. Did he do this because of money? Toyota seems to think so. This gentlemen does not however. He is sticking to his story all the way.

With all the recalls Toyota is having, It really makes me worried knowing that I own a Toyota as well. What if I'm driving and it decides to accelerate? I know they said to put the car in neutral but what if that doesn't work? Have they actually tested a car that went out of control and put it in neutral? How do you feel? Is there any Toyota car owners out there that feel the same way I do?

How Many Times Should You Shampoo?

I have been thinking about my hair lately and how dry it seems to be getting with all the highlights and color treatments my hair gets. I did some research on how many days you should wash your hair. I thought it was the normal thing to wash your body head to toe every day. Apparently not! Stylist of Jessica Simpson says that "its better depending on what hair type to wash only once a week, where others work well washing 2 to 3 times a week." I was really shocked about this so I decided to experiment. I waited this time to wash my hair instead of everyday but to try washing it only two times this last week. I see alot of improvement! It has only been one week too. Its not a frail as before and much smoother. Extremely soft as well. I think I would have to agree now about not washing your hair everyday. I think its good for it. Also Brandon Martinez -- hair stylist and creator of B. The Product -- said that guys don't really ever need to shampoo, unless they use tons of products or have gotten really dirty. He himself only shampoos when he's been surfing because the water is salty. So I would like to know what you do with your hair. Do you wash it everyday, if so how does it turn out? How many times a week do you wash it if not everyday?

The True Story of Jared Fogle's Subway Diet

We all have heard the great subway commerical of 'Jared' who lost 245 lbs by just eating subway. I have to say I was pretty motivated to try out Subways new 'diet plan'. I'm sure many others were as well. Just how did this all get started though? Was he paid to try this? Did he do it on his own intentions and just happen to find luck in the matter? Well, here is 'Jared's' real story.

He reportedly started his own little business out of his college dorm room. By renting out porn movies for a dollar to fellow students. At this time he weighed 425 lbs. He was thrilled to find out that a Subway outlet opened on the ground floor of his building and developed a crush on a cute female employee that worked there. Jared Fogle decided to eat each and every meal at the Subway in his building. After a year, he lost 245 lbs. So we know he was not paid to try this out. He did it based on a crush and happened to get lucky!

A former dorm-mate of Fogle’s, was so stunned by his dramatic weight loss that he penned an article about it in the 'Indiana Daily Student.' Fogle was quoted at the end of the article as saying, "Subway helped save my life and start over. I can't ever repay that."

A Subway franchisee in the Chicago area saw this article like it so much that he floated an idea to Subway’s ad agency to use Fogle as a pitchman. After discussing the idea they decided to contact Fogle and test a commercial which would run regionally. On January 1, 2000, the first “Jared” ad ran. It was success! The company then rolled out the commercial nationally, and Subway's 2000 sales rose 18%, year-over-year.

3 More EarthQuakes Hit Chile

A magnitude-8.8 earthquake on Feb. 27, 2010, the largest in 50 years touched off what Chile's President Michelle Bachelet called "an emergency unparalleled in the history of Chile." Almost a week after the quake, aftershocks have continued to rattle heavily damaged cities along the coastline. Now three strong earthquakes rocked Chile this morning, just as the country was swearing in a new president. A 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit at 11:39 a.m. local time there, followed by a 6.9-magnitude quake 16 minutes later, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. A third, measured at magnitude 6.0, came 27 minutes later. first quake shook the ground near Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, near the Chilean coast. A second earthquake struck moments later. It was about 89 miles (143 km) southwest of Santiago. The third was about 86 miles (138 km) southwest of Santiago. A magnitude-8.8 earthquake on Feb. 27, 2010, touched off what Chile's President Michelle Bachelet called "an emergency unparalleled in the history of Chile." Its hard to believe that they continue to have earthquakes! Like they haven't experienced it enough! I will do my part to help out once again.

Cell Phone Ban Approved In Oklahoma

In the state of Oklahoma a new bill has passed. One that could indeed save many lives. Its the bill to ban cell phones while driving. It has been approved. Yet there are many that disagree with this bill? It only takes a few seconds to take your eyes off the road to due the damage. Several studies show cell phones are a leading cause of car crashes. It is estimated that cell phone distracted drivers are four times more likely to be in a car wreck. According to a Harvard University study, cell phones cause over 200 deaths and half a million injuries each year. In 2008, at any given moment, over 800,000 Americans were texting, making calls, or using a handheld cell phone while driving during the daytime. With distracted driving killing nearly 6,000 Americans in the same year, it's no mystery that cell phone use is risky for drivers.

This accident happened on September 28th, 2005 in Riverview FL. A careless driver on a cell phone blazed through a red light at 55 mph and struck this women's driver side door as she was going 20 mph attempting to make a left turn towards home. Her car was pushed 40 feet and her neck was broken in 2 places. She died instantly. She left behind 2 daughters and her fiance' (she was due to marry him the next week) , brother and grandson. My heart goes out to there family.

Teen Driver Cell Phone and Texting Statistics

•Despite the risks, the majority of teen drivers ignore cell phone driving restrictions.

•Talking on a cell phone while driving can make a young driver's reaction time as slow as that of a 70-year-old.

•56% of teenagers admit to talking on their cell phones behind the wheel, while 13% admit to texting while driving. (Note: Because this information was given voluntarily by teens, actual cell phone use numbers may be much higher.)

•48% of young Americans from 12-17 say they've been in a car while the driver was texting.

•52% of 16- and 17-year-old teen drivers confess to making and answering cell phone calls on the road. 34% admit to text messaging while driving.

•In 2007, driver distractions, such as using a cell phone or text messaging, contributed to nearly 1,000 crashes involving 16- and 17-year-old drivers.

•Over 60% of American teens admit to risky driving, and nearly half of those that admit to risky driving also admit to text messaging behind the wheel.

•Each year, 21% of fatal car crashes involving teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 were the result of cell phone usage. This result has been expected to grow as much as 4% every year.

•Almost 50% of all drivers between the ages of 18 and 24 are texting while driving.

•Over one-third of all young drivers, ages 24 and under, are texting on the road.

•Teens say that texting is their number one driver distraction.

We see how dangerous it can be to text and drive by the statics. I think that the statics would be lower if we didn't have the Iphone. I know that with the older model phones you can feel the numbers/letters on the phone and know how to push the buttons with out even looking at it. Although this does not mean that you cant be distracted while doing that either. On the Iphone though, you have to look at it to make sure even if you have predicted text. I think this would cause more deaths due to texting and driving. What do you think about this new law? Has anyone that you know been in an accident due to a cell phone?

Man Kills Girlfriend Due to Facebook!

I just read that a man saw pictures of a his ex girl friend on Facebook with another man while he was still in Trinidad. He was unaware that she had met a new boyfriend but flew to the UK after seeing pictures of her with the other man on the Internet. They had been together for three years while Ms Mathurasingh was working in Trinidad, and continued their relationship when she returned to the UK in 2008. Bristol flew 4,000 miles from Trinidad to England to confront the 27 year old about her new relationship with this other man. Yet when he found her he stabbed her 20 times at her home in east London, before cutting himself and crashing her car. He has now been jailed in England for at least 22 years for murdering his ex girlfriend after he saw a picture of her on Facebook with another man. This is crazy. Its one thing to cheat on your man but its another to 'kill' the one who cheated. Its hard to think that a social site like Facebook could be directly involved in a murder!?

Ms Mathurasingh's mother said that "justice had been served" for her daughter. I'm kind of confused as to what she was implying by this remark? Is she saying that its ok that she cheated now that she is dead?? What do you think?
She added: "She was snatched from us and we are empty without her. However, we can now try to heal our lives." Until...

Today is International Women's Day!

International Women's Day is today! It is marked on the 8th of March every year. It is a major day of global celebration of women. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. See how Mrs.Obama says her first words in her celebration towards women's day:
"So, I get to speak first while he stands and watches ... I love this!" Mrs. Obama said of her husband, to the chuckles of the mostly female audience in the East Room at the White House. "Look at me adoringly!," she told the president.
To which he responded: "I can do that ..."
To which she said: "... with sincerity!"
Later, Mrs. Obama, cracked, "it is my pleasure to introduce one of the few men in the room."

After her wonderful speech she passes over the mic to her husband President Obama who shows his wife appreciation at a meeting full of women saying:
Progress in women's rights has been made, but too many opportunities and glass ceilings remain "beyond the reach" of too many women. "We have so much more work to do," he said.

So we can see that with the reports released today, show that the statics of women are still under-represented on television and in business! While 52 per cent of the workforce in the US is female. Women everywhere are concentrated in entry and middle level positions. Its hard to believe that we have worked so hard, and this is all we get? Could this be because of our voting system that we have women being grossly under-represented in parliament? What do you think? On a bright side of things Kathryn Bigelow, became the first woman ever to win an Oscar for best director last night. There are those who are trying to make a difference. What are your plans for International Women's Day? I would love to hear what you did to make a difference.

Here are a few quotes from other wonderful women!

A woman’s guess is much more accurate than a man’s certainty.

Scanners Going In To Airport Show Porn!

The federal government is starting to put out full body scanning machines to 11 airports across the US, said Janet Napolitano with the Homeland Security Secretary's Office Friday. The machines are being placed in the airport as a trial to check for any concealed weapons or explosives. These machines are being funded through the Obama administration's $862 billion economic stimulus plan. The TSA has spent years testing these full-body imagers, and plan to deploy 450 units by the end of this year. They were given added urgency after the arrest of a Nigerian man, who has been accused of attempting to detonate an explosive sewn into his underwear on a December 25 flight.

Forty of these machines have already been placed at 19 airports nationwide as part of a field test. The first of the new units are being installed Friday at Boston's Logan International Airport."By accelerating the deployment of this technology, we are enhancing our capability to detect and disrupt threats of terrorism across the nation," says the Homeland Security Office.

The list of other airports set to receive these scanners by the end of summer are, Chicago O'Hare International, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International, Mineta San José International, Los Angeles International, Port Columbus International, Oakland International, San Diego International, Kansas City International and Charlotte Douglas International. Under existing protocols, full-body scans are optional at airport checkpoints. Travelers who decline the scans are funneled to a location where they may be given a pat down and subjected to other tests such as swabs that can detect minute traces of explosives on hands or luggage. Most passengers prefer a body scan to a pat down. Yet others have objected to the body scans, calling them electronic strip searches. Even though the passenger privacy is maintained during the scanning process by blurring all images, deleting images after they are viewed and placing the screener viewing the images in a remote location. This process should not slow the passenger screening down. It will be done at the same time as carry-on baggage screening.

Two women were stopped from getting on a plane at Manchester Airport in the UK for refusing to submit to a full body scan. The women were selected at random and told to go through a new body scanning machine on February 19. One woman refused on religious grounds. She is believed to be a Muslim. The other cited health reasons. The machines show clearly one’s body shape and vague impressions of one’s private parts. They have been deemed an invasion of privacy. The women were not allowed to fly. Due to finding unknown products

Field testing of full-body scanners already is under way at the following 19 airports:

• Albuquerque International Sunport Airport
• Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
• Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
• Denver International Airport
• Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
• Detroit Metro Airport
• Indianapolis International Airport
• Jacksonville International Airport
• McCarran International Airport
• Los Angeles International Airport
• Miami International Airport
• Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
• Raleigh-Durham International Airport
• Richmond International Airport
• Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
• San Francisco International Airport
• Salt Lake City International Airport
• Tampa International Airport
• Tulsa International Airport

To me this seems like a good idea, doing more to protect our safty while flying. At the same time though, I'm not sure that I like that fact that its pretty much porn. Because there will be color added to the photos. Even though the airport screeners will not be able to save the images. Who's to say they can't snap a picture with a hand held camera for their enjoyment later!! Apologists for the scanners have described the images they produce as “ghostly” or “skeletal” in an effort to downplay the intrusion of privacy they really represent. So all in all, I feel like they have good intentions but I think this could be a little to far... What do you think?

Two Officers Shot By Gun Man At the Pentagon!

The incident happened at 6:40 p.m., when a man wearing a coat with "no real emotion in his face" approached the officers outside the Pentagon Metro station. "As the officers started to ask him for his pass to get into the Pentagon, he drew a weapon from his pocket and started shooting immediately at the officers" from a few feet away.

The two officers suffered grazing wounds and were being treated in a hospital, after they were moved out of critical condition. The suspect later dies after being in the hospital for treatment. We are thankful no one else was hurt. These men really did there job in protecting the Pentagon and fellow civilians. It brings back to mind, The assault of the Pentagon, U.S. capital's ground zero on Sept. 11, 2001,came four months after a deadly attack on the Army's Fort Hood, Texas, post allegedly by a U.S. Army psychiatrist with Islamic leanings. Could this event also be part of a terrorism act? Immediately following this event on Thursday, investigators did not think that terrorism was involved but of course, there not ruling that out either. "There are no possible motives right now to discuss the reasoning's behind all of this."

Could this be a part of the next big terrorism act? What do you think? Until then....

Lil Wayne Escapes Jail Time!

Most of you have heard of the rap artist Lil Wayne. He has won about 28 awards and has been nominated to win over 44 times through out his career. He is obviously very much liked by his fans, But will he be saying good bye for the last time? He took to Twitter this morning to say goodbye to all of his fans. Saying " They kant lok up my heart bekuz y'all already have it on lok. .. thank u" We know that his one year jail sentence in New York could be the the beginning of his time behind jail for who knows how long. Due to a minor fire today in the basement of Manhattan Criminal Court Lil Wayne has escaped yet again by postponing his sentence. We know that two civilians and one prisoner sustained minor injuries, but only one was taken to the hospital. Since then, his proceedings have been canceled. No word on when they will resume his case. I wonder if he will go through withdrawal being in jail. Will he have his next album ready when he gets out? I think this is good that he has to go through with his sentencing. It will show all that he is trying to fix his mistakes. One person said this about Lil Wayne.. "Lil Wayne is arguably the voice of a generation whether you like it or not. The guy is a lyrical genius. It's a shame that some people just jump to conclusions when they know absolutely nothing about the man or what he has accomplished. Everyone makes mistakes people. Weezy is going to continue to change the world in 8 months when he is done." I think this was well put. I would like to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think he should go to jail or should be given a minor sentence to stay out of jail and keeping making music for his fans?

PS3 Down Until Tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide what I want to blog about today. I'm having a hard time deciding. I would like to blog about the earthquake in Chile but I'm in dismay with the fact that I cant play my PS3 now due to a bug! They said that it would take up to 24 hours to fix it, and not to play it until the problem has been fixed. This is what Sony has to say about it.

We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the
clock functionality incorporated in the system.

Errors include:
* The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
* When the user tries to sign-in to the PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen; "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)".
* When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; "Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game."
* When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen; "The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)"
* Users are not able to playback certain rental video downloaded from the PlayStation Store before the expiration date.

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

As mentioned above, Please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

As for you gamers, I feel sorry for you. Although I'm not exactly enthused about this problem either. As for the incident with the earthquake my heart goes out for them and there families. This is horrible thing. This morning the death toll was up to more than 700 people dead, the search is still going. Chile's death toll could eventually rise above 1,000. But right now, aside from the rescue process, the biggest issue would be getting food, water and medical aid to the hardest hit zones. I know that I will do my part to help out! I hope you will too! Until then...
